Behavioural problems are not only


caused by slow learners but also by
smart students.
Teacher needs to be prepared to face
behavioural problems among pupils
in the classroom based on
appropriate classroom management
models.

Glasser's Choice Theory


Choice Theory explains why Reality Therapy works.
In Choice Theory they are classified under five headings :

Power(whichincludes
achievementandfeeling
worthwhileaswellas
winning).

Love &
Belonging (includes
groupsaswellasfamilies
orlovedones).

Fun(includespleasure
andenjoyment).

Freedom(includes
independence,autonomy,
yourown'space').

Survival(includes
nourishment,shelter,
sex).

What are the strategies that can be use to solve the case?

Focus on the present and avoid


discussing the past.
Avoid criticizing, blaming and/or
complaining and help counselees to
do the same.
Be patient and supportive but keep
focusing on the source of the
problem.
Focus on what counselees can do
directly - act and think.
Help them make specific, workable
plans.
