Information Literacy

The main idea of the article I have read is about how we should have classes
to describe certain types of technology (Furhman, 2015). The author conducted an
interview with Professor Ronald Yaros from the University of Maryland. He explained
to her that he wants to study how students adopt, adapt, and utilize technology
when it comes into the learning environment (Furhman, 2015). He explained that we
can classify certain technologies as distractive meaning it will more likely distract
the student rather than help or innovative, helping students in their studies by
giving them new ways to productively complete assignments.

Part 3- Find Two Additional Articles

Some of the key words I will use to search are: classes, mobile, technology, learning
The two search engines I will be using are Google and Yahoo. I used Bing for my
original search.
The results from Google proved to be more efficient as I found a related article to
the original. Why Google was more efficient is because when I searched Yahoo it
only gave me articles that were relative to recent trends in that topic.
Part 4- TRAAP Sources
https://teaching.berkeley.edu/mobile-technology-use-classroom
T- The second article was written in November 2010 and has been updated every
year up to this year (2015).
R- Yes this article relates to my topic as it deals with the use of technology in
classrooms.
A- The author is Rita-Marie Conrad. A PhD and professor at the University of
California Berkley.
A- The information is trustworthy as the author presents her own data in her
study and supports it by showing student improvement with using technology
she gave them to use.
P- The purpose of this article is to inform and persuade teachers and students alike
to use technology aids designed specifically to help in classwork. For example ebooks, tablets, online learning guides. It aims to keep students involved and keeps a
fresh feel other than the old paper textbooks.
Part 5- CCBC Database
Keywords used: classroom, technology, mobile, learning
Database used: ProQuest

ProQuest gave me many results all relative to my original article. They are all within
a recent time frame.

Part 6- Compare Internet and Journal Article

Based on the following three things; ease of access, timeliness, and authority,
it was seemingly even. The internet article was very easy to access however the
journal was slighty more difficult but still easy to navigate to get to my article of
choice. Both offered timely choices meaning they gave me a relatively recent time
frame from which to choose. Yet again, both were written by high authority, two
Professors with degrees in the field of technology.
