Membership Application Process


1. Applicant completes the application form, and presents it to his/her sponsor(s). The applicant keeps this
page of instructions.
2. By submission of page 1, the applicant agrees, when accepted as a member, to pay the initiation fee and
all other fees and assessments in effect at that time.
3. The sponsor(s) shall sign the application. At least one sponsor shall be a current voting member.
4. The sponsor shall submit the completed membership application to the Secretary.
5. The Secretary will:
a) Review the application for completeness and conformance to the Constitution and By-Laws.
b) Sign, date, and time the application.
c) Maintain a waiting list of applicants prioritized by the date and time the application was received and
verified. The waiting list will be posted on the club bulletin board and on the PIYC.com web site.
6. The applicant and sponsor(s) shall keep the secretary informed of any changes to the data on the
application.
7. Should a sponsor become ineligible, the affected applicant will be notified by the Secretary, and have 30
days in which to obtain an eligible sponsor. If no eligible sponsor is obtained within 30 days, the
application will be dropped from the waiting list.
8. The Board of Directors will announce openings of the charter and call for the required number of
candidates from the prioritized list.
9. The Commodore will contact both the applicant and sponsor to determine the applicant s interest in
joining.
10. The candidate and sponsor will be given a deadline within which the candidate must confirm interest in
membership.
11. If a candidate declines an invitation, he/she may reapply after one year.
12. Candidate review and approval for membership will be in accordance with the Constitution and By-laws.
13. Approved candidates become probationary members and are assigned membership numbers based on
receipt of the initiation fee in effect at that time. Membership numbers may be used to mediate future stall
assignments.
14. New members are on probation for one year. At that time, the Board of Directors votes on each to
become full members, with all rights and privileges according to the Constitution and By-Laws.
15. Stall assignment is based on points as defined in the constitution and by-laws. Club membership does not
guarantee stall availability.
