11.
(a) Using block diagram reduction technique find the closed loop transfer function of the
system whose block diagram is shown below.
(16)
Or
(b) Convert the block diagram to signal flow graph and determine the transfer function using
Masons gain formula.
(16)
12.
(a) The open loop transfer function of a unity feedback system is given by G(s) = K /
s(sT+1) where K and T are positive constant. By what factor should the amplifier gain K to be
reduced, so that the peak overshoot of unit step response of the system is reduced from
75% to 25%.
(16)
Or
(b) A unity feedback control system is characterized by the following open loop transfer
function, G(s) = (0.4s+1)/s(s+0.6). Determine its transient response for unit step input.
Evaluate the maximum overshoot and the corresponding peak time.
13.
(a) For the following function draw Bode plot and obtain gain cross over frequency
(16)
(16)
G(s) = 20 / s(1+3s)(1+4s)
Or
(b) The open loop transfer function of a unity feedback system is given by
G(s) = [(1+0.2s)(1+0.025s)]/[s3(1+0.0005s)(1+0.001s)]
Sketch the polar plot and determine the phase margin
14.
(16)
(a) Construct Nyquist plot of a feed back control system whose open loop transfer function
is given by G(s) H(s) = 5/s(1-2). Comment on the stability of the system.
(16)
Or
(b) The open loop transfer function of a unity feedback system is given by
G(s)=K(s+9)/s(s2+4s+11). Sketch the root locus of the system.
15.
