1. In an RC phase shift oscillator, if its frequency of oscillation is 955 Hz and R1 = R2 = R3 = 680 K .
Find the value of capacitors.
2. A Weinbridge oscillator is used for operations at 9 kHz. If the value of the resistance R is 100 k ,
what is the value of C required?
3. Define the term unloaded Q factor.
4. What is the effect of cascading n stages of identical single tuned amplifiers (synchronously tuned)
on the overall gain?
5. Why does tuned amplifier require neutralization?
PART B

6. (a) What is Wien Bridge? How is it used to work as an oscillator? Support it with necessary
derivations.

(b) i) With the help of neat circuit diagrams, explain the operation of the Miller crystal
oscillator

(ii) The equivalent circuit of a crystal has the values of L = 0.7 H, C = 0.01 pF, R=1000 and
Cm = 2 pF. Calculate Series resonant frequency, Parallel resonant frequency and Quality
factor of the crystal.

7. (a) Describe the operation of a single tuned amplifier with neat diagram and derive expression for gain

(b) (i) Discuss about double tuned voltage amplifiers.

(ii) The drain circuit of a FET tuned radio frequency amplifier has a 100 pF capacitor placed in
parallel with an inductor L, whose unloaded Q-factor is 100. If the frequency of resonance is
1 MHz and the transistor output resistance is 20 k, calculate the loaded Q-factor, inductance
and loaded bandwidth.
