Loading Videos To iMovie

iMovie must be open
Insert USB into computer click use USB
iPhoto will pop up exit it
Wait for photos to appear (it might take some time depending on how
many videos you have on the camera)
Click manual then click check all and the uncheck all (this will enable
you to choose the videos you want to put in what folders)
Example: Pledges it will ask you if you want to use an existing file or
create a new one.
In Project Library
Right click on the bottom to insert
a new folder. This will help you
stay organized with each topic.

Go to event library
Select the video you want to
enter
Double click the video
Drag down to your project

Crop clip
Click on the clip you want to
crop then click.
A yellow box will appear. You
can choose what part of the video
you want to insert.
Once the hand appears you
can drag it to your project.

Timing clip
Double click on the clip in the
project.
In the inspector box you can choose
the duration of your clip.
You will want to use seconds or
minutes:
For seconds just type the
number 1-60
For minutes type:
1:23 etc.
*** Using this takes the unused time off the back of the clip!!
When using the green screen, have students reframe from wearing
white, green or cameo.
Use the tripod to avoid the picture moving.
Adding green screen clip to your project.
Choose a picture first.
Drag it to your project
Choose a clip and drag it over
the picture you chose for your
background.
A box will pop up and ask you
what you want to do to with your clip.
Choose green screen.
Make sure the red line is at the
front of the picture to let it know that
is where you want your clip to start.

You might have to adjust the


timing on your picture to match your
clip.

Picture from internet


Choose a picture from the web.
Drag it to your desktop
Drag it to iPhoto

Pictures from desktop


Drag it to iPhoto
Pictures from a camera
Insert USB (it Apple auto opens iPhoto)
Once pictures are in iPhoto
Choose the icon with the
camera
Choose a picture
Drag to the project
(You can choose several
pictures by using your holding down
command button.)
Click
the icon

To add sound click the icon


then choose where you want to
get the sound from.

To

Detach Sound
Click in the clip in the
project make sure it has a yellow
frame around it. Then click the
Clip tab and scroll down to
detach audio. Once it has
detached a blue audio box will
appear. You can then move the
audio box anywhere in the
project.
