The school had a successful book fair week where many books were purchased. The children also enjoyed a visit from Build-A-Bear workshop where they made a Batman bear to take turns bringing home on weekends. The Reception Class had a positive first Forest School visit where they learned outdoors despite some challenging weather. Upcoming events include workshops, a basketball tournament, Remembrance Day assembly, and plays about cyber safety and anti-bullying.

Book Fair Week

Build A Bear Visit

An excellent assembly introduction, just

before half term, gave a taste of the
storylines behind a wonderful variety of
books available during this weeks book fair.
Its really good to report plenty of interest
and a high number of books purchased. Its
hard to over-estimate the value and
pleasure which reading brings to us all, a
miraculous exercise in brain activity and
imaginative endeavour. So its really
excellent that the children have been
acquiring these books.

The children's behaviour was exemplary and

the chose a bear with a Batman costume,
which they will take turns to bring home each
weekend and complete a diary of the bears
adventures. There will be a name
chosen (democratically) in class before the
bear is allowed to come home!

Looking Ahead
Week 10
Forest School
On Tuesday, the Reception Class ventured
forth to Shorne, the (new) location for their
first Forest School visit. The chance to get
out of the classroom and learn and play
amidst trees and fields is always enjoyed,
even though sometimes the weather can
present a challenge itself another aspect
of education of course. Happily on Tuesday,
temperatures were benign and a fine
morning was had by the class, with much
achieved.
