Welcome to Second Grade!
Dear Parents,
Welcome to 2nd grade! I look forward
to starting off a fantastic new year
with each one of you and more than
that with your wonderful kids. Ill
include to newsletter each month is
weekly folders to keep you up to date
with our classroom. Along with giving
you a warm welcome to our world of
second graders, I also wanted to give
you a heads up on the first week.

Week 1 Assignments
In science this week well learn
about the solar system and planets.
Kids will work in groups to form their
own solar system.
In Math well review multiplication
tables. On Friday well play math
madness as a review.
In social studies were going to start
looking at American Indian tribes.

Field Trip
We have some exciting news coming
up for our second graders. In 4 weeks
we are going on our first field trip of
the year to the Fernbank museum.
The trip will coincide with the lesson
on geography and rock formations. Ill
send out permission forms next week.
Please be on lookout for the forms.
We love to see parents accompany us
on this adventure. Interested parents
please let me know soon.
