Nano Hummingbird: The First Flapping Wing MAV: 6 AA294 Seminar On Case Studies of Aircraft Design

This document announces a seminar about the Nano Hummingbird, the first flapping wing micro air vehicle that can precisely hover and fly forward using only two flapping wings. The seminar will be held on May 4th, 2011 from 2:15pm to 3:45pm in classroom 300-300. It will be presented by Karl Klingebiel, an aeromechanical engineer from AeroVironment who worked on the DARPA Nano Air Vehicle program. The talk will discuss the development of the Nano Hummingbird and the challenges of designing flapping wing micro air vehicles.
