RHYTHM Powerpoint

Rhythm is a repeated pattern of sounds that moves through time. This lesson teaches students to clap and play different rhythms by representing beats with circles in squares. It explains notes like crochets, quavers and semi-quavers that represent fractions of beats. Students practice clapping rhythms and then create their own one bar rhythm using symbols from a drinks menu that is repeated over four bars. The lesson concludes with a true/false quiz about rhythmic notation.
