Technology Acceptance - Venkatesh 2003

This article presents a unified view of user acceptance of information technology by consolidating eight prominent models of user acceptance. The authors integrate the models into a unified model called the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) which identifies four key constructs that influence user acceptance and usage: performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions. The UTAUT model was tested and found to outperform the individual models and explain up to 70% of the variance in user acceptance and usage intention.
