Small sheds or canopies over 12 square meters or those containing a source of ignition require a smoke detector and fire extinguisher. Groups of adjacent canopies or sheds up to 30 square meters total must be flame retardant and separated by 3 meters. Anything over 30 square meters or without fire inspector approval in writing is not allowed. All fabric tents and canopies must be approved for indoor use and fire retardant with an accessible tag.
