Mauricio Sotelo - Biography - Universal Edition

Mauricio Sotelo is a Spanish composer born in 1961 in Madrid. He studied composition with Francis Burt at the Vienna Music Academy, graduating with distinction, and also studied with Luigi Nono. Sotelo has lived in both Vienna and Madrid, and has received numerous awards including the Spanish National Prize for Composition in 2001. His works have been premiered around the world since 2010, including pieces for orchestra, ensemble, and electronics.
