Concept Map Instructions

This document provides directions for students to work in pairs to create a concept map about photosynthesis. It lists questions for the students to consider when building their concept map, such as what organisms photosynthesize, where photosynthesis occurs, the structures of chloroplasts, the reactions of photosynthesis and their reactants and products, and the photosynthetic equation. The students are asked to use these questions as a starting point and include pictures or visuals in their concept map.

Photosynthesis Concept Map

Directions: In this assignment you will be working in pairs to create a concept map of
Photosynthesis.
Here are some questions to consider when creating your concept maps:
v
What organisms photosynthesize?
v

Where does photosynthesis occur?

What are the structures of chloroplast?

Where on plants are the sites of photosynthesis? (i.e. leaves or stems)

What are the two reactions of photosynthesis?

What are the reactants and products of each reaction?

What is the Photosynthetic Equation?

What organisms give off Carbon Dioxide?

You do not have to answer all of these questions directly in your concept maps but
rather use these questions as a starting point to build and expand on your
understanding of Photosynthesis. Be sure to include pictures or visuals.
