Week 3 - Google Drive (GD)

For this assignment, you will complete the GD Quiz, and finish the Google Docs Challenge
Activities after going over the weeks presentations.
Objectives
Student will:
Design and publish an interactive activities with an educational purpose
Apply technology to develop other students higher order skills and creativity
Fulfil the various types of learning types (visual, audio, and/or interactive learners)
Understand how computer communications systems can enhance learning
Promote safe and healthy use of technology resources

What is Google Drive (GD)?


Google Drive is a free web-based word processor, file sharing and online storage tool offered by
Google. It enables you to create, edit, store and share files with other users online from any
location with Internet access and real-time. GD allows you to store information online in one
place (the cloud) that is accessible anytime and worldwide. GD is very secure because it gives
you the peace of mind to do not get your data lost and is password secured. There are no
system requirements or fees in order to use this tool, but to have or create a Gmail account,
which is also free.
Google Drive Use and Benefits
These are the most common and beneficial uses of Google Drive in Education:
It is available online and at all times
Applications available: word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, drawings and forms
Create, edit, store and share files with other users online remotely and in real-time
When working on a document, it saves the changes or edits automatically
Teachers use GD to create a more engaging students participation
Students use GD to create and share documents with other classmates
Students can submit assignments by sharing the files with their teachers
Teachers can provide immediate feedback to students work
Work together with a group of people on single documents at the same time
Provides limitless file size sharing from your Gmail account
GD has a mobile application compatible with iPads and smart phones
