You should normally notify the College of your absence from the FIRST day that you cannot
attend.
You must also supply appropriate evidence to verify that your absence was legitimate The
evidence should be from someone other than yourself, for example any letters from official
sources, doctors certificates etc. The evidence must be attached to the form.
If you wish these circumstances to be taken into consideration by the Examination Board you
must complete a Mitigating Circumstances Form if any of the following apply: your performance
on assessment has been negatively affected, you have missed the deadline for a piece of
coursework, or you could not take a class test or exam.
Confidentiality
If you feel the circumstances are of a particularly sensitive or personal nature, you may submit
the form and corroborating evidence in a sealed envelope marked confidential with your name
and ID number.
