The target audience for the media product is teenagers and young adults between the ages of 16-17. This is evidenced by the choice of a 16-year-old female artist to feature on the cover and in a double page spread, aiming to capture the attention of the one-third of the audience that is female. The type of content in the magazine, like charts from 2015-2016, and chosen artists, also cater to this younger demographic. Question 4

Who would be the audience for


your media product?

I have designed my audience questionnaire and


audience profile to limit myself to a smaller target
audience including teenagers and young adults. This has
shown through the varying answers to my questions and
the likes and interests of the people I selectively asked to
engage the right niche market in order to accurately
constrict my music magazine based around a younger
target audience than say Q Magazine or even NME
Magazine.
My chosen model/ subject I have chosen to feature as my
main artist is the first indicator as to who my target
audience is as I have chosen a female subject of the age
of 16, around the beginning age my magazine is aimed
at to feature as the main subject and featured artist of
my magazine.
From my audience questionnaire and profile, I have come
to the conclusion that a third of my audience is female
and this has, therefore, influenced my choice to include a
female artist on my front cover and feature on my double
page spread. This then captures the attention further of
the majority of my audience and creates interest in my
main coverline and main article that features in my
magazine.
My audience for my media product being, on average,
teenagers of the age of 16 and 17 from my audience
profile further explains the type of content I have
included within my music magazine such as information
about charts from 2015 and 2016, as well as the type
and genre of artists I have chosen to include being a part
