Worship series through Feb. 7:

Spirituality is not one-size-fits-all. God creates each of us not

just to worship, but to do so in ways that align with who God
created us to be. This exploration and prayerful discovery of
your souls path to God will be marked with growth and filled
with the riches of a close walk with God. The pathways we
explore weekly are pieces that can be arranged in an infinite
number of combinations in order for you to start walking in
faith or continue as a follower of Jesus to draw closer to him.
Lets go on an adventure. Hold on!

Angel Tree Thank You

Christmas 2015 marked the 29th year MUMC helped with

the Prison Fellowship Angel Tree ministry for children with
a parent in prison. This year, we are again overwhelmed
at the generosity of this church family. We would like to
express our heartfelt thanks to all of you who purchased
and wrapped gifts with loving care; and, also to those
who made monetary donations so we could go shopping.
Special thanks to those that offered to help deliver gifts,
but the weather cooperated this year and everything fell
into place for us to get the gifts delivered. A total of 53
children received two gifts each (33 households). Thank
you for helping MUMC participate in this wonderful Prison
Fellowship Ministry. Please remember these angels and their
families in your prayers. Thank you! Greg & Dora Thackery

Foundation Grants

The Missouri United Methodist Foundation Board will be

accepting applications for grants at its January meeting.
Applications should address the religious, charitable and
educational activities of the church. Application forms
are available at the church office and should be returned
to the Foundation mailbox at the office. All applications
must be received by Jan. 18.

SATURDAY: Luke 24:36-49 Look at me

Jesus appears after the resurrection and invites the disciples to look at him
his hands, his feet. How do you touch Jesus?

FRIDAY: James 1:19-26 Hear the word

This lyric might speak to a sensate: Speak, you have my attention, Lord.
(Listen to the song Attention by Know Hope Collective)

THURSDAY: Matthew 14:34-36 All touch his fringes

People begged to touch the fringes on Jesus cloak. His message preceded him,
and upon meeting him they desired to touch his clothes. And they were healed.
Read this scripture again with a piece of cloth in your hands.

Desire for the awe, beauty, and splendor of God; use the five senses to
worship with their hearts.

Sensates: Loving God With the Senses

WEDNESDAY: Matthew 6:27-33 Lily Lesson: Seek God

Look for heaven on earth in nature.

TUESDAY: Matthew 6:27-33 Lily Lesson: In the now

When in nature, you have permission to be fully present. Nature can center us
in the now instead of the past or future.

MONDAY: Matthew 6:27-33 Lily Lesson: Being, not doing

Just be like a lily. No toiling, spinning, worrying. Scripture reminds us that
God cares for all of us, including the lilies.

A naturalist sees nature as a cathedral; a place God has built.

Communion or Eucharist.

_______3. I would prefer to worship God by spending an hour beside a small

brook than by participating in a group service.
