Both shatdown types send a signal to-a solenoid valve in te ‘engin room to shutdown the engine, The dil ‘benveen them is that there is no ume delay with pon-cancediable shutdowns, but the canceilable shutdowns allow a pre- time delay. Cancellable shutdowns will also send a prohibiting signal to-a remote control system and engine governor system. Note: Ft is nor possible so start the engine when a SHUT DOWN function is acrivared. The relegraph fever at the (engine) control location in conrad must be sez to STOP before the main engine can be re-started, the shutdowns will then be reser. NORCONTROL Automation 2.5 is responsible for this preparatory work which is documented in a standard form. There are two (2) groups of parameters, ic, OF.CODE parameters and VO chanel parameters. Tt is not usually nécessary to re-define/change any of the parameters except to commission the unil, ommissioning of the unit(s) is discussed in Chapter 4. ‘This Chapter provides information on: + EQUIPMENT HANDLING AND STORAGE Section 3.2 + PAYSICAL INSTALLATION Section 3.3 * ELECTRICAL POWER CONNECTIONS Section 3.4 » ALARM RELAY CONNECTIONS Section 3.5 * COMMUNICATION CHANNEL CONNECTIONS © Section 3.6 + PROCESS INPUT AND OUTPUT CONNECTIONS AND ADAPTORS Section 3.7 AvloChief - 4 for MAN / B&W User's Mannat NOR — a2 Boc.n9 AADOO-Ci-Oe2.95, 3.2 EQUIPMENT HANDLING AND STORAGE Bach univ is packed and shipped in a heavy-duty cardboard box. Remove the unit from its shipping container and inspect il for visible signs of darnage. - Check that the equipment received matches the inventory. - Record any discrepancies from the inventory and/or visible damage to the wait. Refer te the shipping agreemedt Zor guidance if tht shippitg container or the wot is damaged. 2 Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Precautions Each unit is designed ta comply with the costing requirements for Type-Approval Certificates issued by the vanous Classification Societies. To ensure t that each unil remains in compliance with the various Classification Societies’ OMS, Particular anlention should be paid lo cable selection and its installation. The cable selected should be installed according 10 the rules of the relevant Classification Society or be in accordance wath an appropriate code-of-practice (for example, the JEC Publication 333 "Eleciromagneue Compatibikiey of Electrical and Electronic Installations in Ships") to minimise electromagnetic interference between the equipment concemed and the equipment on board. Cenain precautions are recontinended to ensure the proper operation of the unit(s} within a very noisy environment. However, these precautions need not apply so rigorousty in a more quiet enviroment. ‘General requirements: . ‘The required minimam distance for the location of each unit from high voltage equipment is: - 2m from S00 KVA equipment _ - 5m from SMVA equipment - Common shield-screening is recommended for use with analogue sensors. . Ground alll shield-sereens to a common ground outside the unit cabinen(s). or. for rack-mounted units, ground at the cable terminal. . Grounded-ry pe SENSORSHACTUATORS should not be used , Common shield-screens should be used with serial communication Links. AntoChief-4 for MAN / B&W User's Manual NOR ==
