Final Inspection Procedure

This document provides a final inspection procedure for a customer order. It checks for [1] proper assembly of pipe flange holes, weld ends, and threads; [2] correct name tags and special tags that are securely fastened; and [3] uniform body and bonnet studs, tight grease fittings and plugs, and correct handwheels or levers for gear or lever operated valves.

Check proper alignment of pipe


flange holes or weld ends/
schedule to ANSI B16.

Check that the paint finish is free


from defects & covers all
external metal surfaces.

For RF flange connections check


finish & that both faces are
clean & unmarked.

Check that the name tag is


correct, legible & securely
fastened.

For RTJ check grooves are clean


& unmarked & correct size.

Check that all special tags are


correct, legible & securely
fastened.

For gear and lever operated and


actuated valves, check that all
stops have been set correctly &
an advice note has been attached.

FITTINGS

Check body & bonnet studs for


uniform height & appearance

Check grease fittings, drain &


bleed plugs for tightness &
appearance.

For gear operated valves check


that the correct handwheel &
bolt have been provided. For
lever operated, correct lever and
stop plate set correctly.
