Class Prophecy: Reginald D. Almazan
Man is not what he is but he is what he is not. This tells us about what man really is. It
speaks so much on becoming reality of mans being. As human beings, we normally know how
to make choices and options in life; well surely become what we are not today. Since man as a
rational being is gifted with a mind inspired by Gods incredible intelligence, he always has that
deep sense of longing and desire to become what he wants to be. The year is 2029.
My gosh! Its already 7:00 A.M. and I have to rush to the airport to catch my plane for the
Philippines. As an Economic Analyst for the United States Economic Planning Board, I have a
hectic schedule. I wish I could make my Porsche car go faster so I wont miss my flight. This
thing Im driving can go 1000 kph. So Ill be at the airport in three minutes. Anyway, next
month, Ill be buying my flying car invented by my high school classmates; Engr. Cindy
Angeles, Engr. Earl Adrian Calditera, Engr. Adrian Philip Aspiras, and Scientist Christian Ca
ezo.
I arrived in the Philippines around 10 A.M. and check-in at a Burj Khalifa, the most
exclusive and tallest hotel in the Philippines and this is actually a newly built 500-storey
building which was constructed by notable Engineers in the country. Engr. Ervin John Castro,
Engr. Julius Daryll Espanto, Engr. Gerald Martinez, and Engr. Dave Raven Fabella. I am here to
meet with economists because according to our survey this country has tremendously improved
its economic status. This year, the Philippines have been included among Top 10 Most
Progressive Countries entire the world.
Life is full of surprises indeed and this is proven when I learned that Shae-Lynn Ea our
high school valedictorian was awarded the Most Outstanding Economist who contributed much
for this countrys economic development. She is also the Governor of the Central Bank of the
Philippines working with him are the certified public accountants, Aldrin John Trinidad, Veah
Garcia, and Mae Anne Magno who were once the topnotches in the CPA Examination. Joneil
Europa is happily married to Rei Jan Lois Lopez, a psychologist in a well-known hospital which
she owns in Makati.
Our meeting was adjourned and on my way out, I saw my close friend Sony Mariano. I
came to know that she is the Vice-Governor of the same agency. Among her branch
Administrators are Jean Bernardo, Flordeliza Pader, and Rojane Eligio who were assigned to
different places in the Philippines. I invited my close friend for lunch in the Burj Khalifa. My
close friend Sony Mariano now owner of the latest BMW controlled by a computer worth 50
million pesos. The high-tech car was created by Lazarino Tagara her husband thus making him
the richest man in the world. She informed me that they have two children and resides at Brown
Hills Subdivision developed by Architect Archie Galigo together with distinguish architects
Taison Abad and Derrick Joseph Ayson.
On our way to New York,Cubao, a BMW top down woofer nearly bumped our car. A man
came out in a black tuxedo. As he took-off his shades, a familiar handsome looking face
captured my eyes he was Edison Ea, a close friend back in high school. Right now, hes so
prominent for owning the largest computer company in the world. We had our chat at a famous
restaurant when Socorro Ismael II came over and handed as the menu. It was so ridiculous
when I was amazed when my close friend told me that he is the owner of said restaurant. His
associates were Jave Torres and Mariel Fe Duran who gave him the idea of putting up a
business like this. The restaurant has a music lounge, were a group of band members headed by
Kristal Gayle Floresca a very famous International Recording Artist with Jaylord John Caringas
and Dhaved John Corpuz, who won the MTV Music awards will be performing that night.
A day after, I decided to visit my relatives and friends in San Esteban Ilocos Sur,
my hometown. After 15 years, San Esteban Ilocos Sur became a first class city as seem from its
towering improvement. Along the way somebody caught my attention a lady waiting for a ride
so, I parked my car in front of her and recognized that she is Katlyn Mae Hernaez. She told me
that she had a flat tire so I offered her a ride. She was on her way to the hospital were she is
presently working as a resident doctor together with our classmates. She was called to the
emergency room so I waited out at the front desk, Dr. Betty Cabus a dentist, was page for a
telephone call coming from Atty. Jerry Flor Nolasco when Dr. Cabus proceeded to the front
desk, I saw Dr. Resty Baustista, a neurologist walking with her. Then, I saw Alaiza Joy Ordoez
stockholder of the biggest company in Laoag City whose relative has undergone a successful
bypass operation conducted by my classmates Dr. Raya Fabilene Santos and Lonjano Olao
who were noted heart surgeons in the Philippines. As Dr. Hernaez stepped out from the
emergency room, she immediately proceeded to the front desk were Dr. Cabus and Dr. Bautista
are talking about the graduation ceremonies to be held at SENHS that night were in Mary
Cristine Ramos and John Joesen Benemeritos son will be graduating as Valedictorian. The said
couple are both psychiatrists at the same Hospital. Dr. Hernaez bid me to attend the graduation
of John Joesen Benemerito and Mary Cristine Ramos son. The class Salutatorian is the daughter

Before proceeding to our dear Alma Mater, we dropped by a restaurant owned by Kevin
Mar Martinez, a Chef and Culinary expert where he was assisted by Rhoda Cabanela and

Anquillano, a good actress of Star Cinema and Jervis Alcedo, a multi-talented actor, eating in
the same restaurant. They were pressbrinking about movie they will compete for the

Ralph Lauren Ordoez in Hollywood.
After lunch, we went to SM Vigan which was owned by Enrico Guzman with his
associates Keith Randel Soliven, and Jayzer Macatbag. I bought some souvenir items for my
relatives in the United States particularly in Hawaii and some presents for John Joesen and
Marys son and Claenth Aiken and Angelas daughter at gift gate which owned by Jun Jun
Tejero and Mark Kevin Paras. After a moment of relaxation, we were refreshed to attend the
Graduation Ceremony and I was amazed to see Glenford Esquivel, the Guidance Counselor as
EMCEE. The Guest of Honor and Speaker was Cristal Mae Ordoez the Spokes-person of the
Girl Scouts of the Philippines other guests of said affair were Reynand Abboc the Director of
CHED Region I, Chefel Boy Galleto, the Dep-Ed Division Superintendent. Then, Almon
Beronilla, the Principal of SESCS and Jessa Marie Soliven, the Principal of SENCS approached
and lead us to the Presidential table and we were acknowledged by Glenford Esquivel. I was
delighted to see San Esteban Chief of Police, Inspector Jerickson Castro who graced the
momentous occasion by his inspirational message. I have also learned that Diana Antolin, Carlo
Querol and Melody Bagoyo were elected Counselor of San Esteban, Ronwel Abad and Maribel
Abalos as Board Members of the Province of Ilocos Sur were not able to attend the said
occasion because they were all out of the country.
The following day, I was bound to Manila to finish my business trip in the Philippines.
There, I was astounded to know that Alvin Colina, was now a First Class Pilot together with
Dennis Antolin and Jonas Ayson. As I got down, I saw Bermil Gacutan, our Batch Salutatorian
now the Secretary of Tourism. At the lobby, I found Denmark Espanto, Engelbert Calina,
Jessica Apolonio, and Crichel Joy Estrada who are then Administrators of Ninoy Aquino
International Airport patiently waiting for my arrival to tell about the planned Reunion of
BATCH 2014 organized by Novelyn Tabunan, owner of an Island Resort Hotel in Puerto
Prinsesa City, Palawan. We were so happy seeing everyone surmounting difficult obstacles and
surrounded with success for our chosen careers.
We owe everything from our beloved institution, the Great SAN ESTEBAN NATIONAL
HIGH SCHOOL for giving us opportunities to live life to its fullest and enjoy our own
historical moments. For without a vision life becomes a boring ritual of waiting for something,
something that may never come.
