Checklist for Linked Production (Audio Video)

1. SIMILAR PRODUCT RESEARCH - Annotated screengrabs in PowerPoint form, embedded on


blog.
2. SIMILAR PRODUCT RESEARCH Answer these questions:
(i)
What is the target audience for the similar product? Include age, social category,
gender, interest groups (including fans of) and psychographics.
(ii)
In what ways are the generic conventions of these products visible?
(iii)
Who produced and distributed these products?
(iv)
How successful were they- critically and commercially at the time and now?
(v)
In what ways has this research assisted your own production design choices
3. This A2 product must demonstrate high production values/technical skill. Spend 2 hours
using Final Cut Pro trying new things out / taking online tutorials / exporting in different
formats evidence this training on your blog through multiple screengrabs or photos of you
at work.
4. Do the same with filming and lighting practise a wide range of shot types, angles and
movements and again, put pictorial evidence on your blog.
5. Storyboard your product - PUT EVIDENCE ON YOUR BLOG
6. Plan your photoshoot the photoshoot is a location reconnoitre [You will be given a
template.] PUT EVIDENCE ON YOUR BLOG
7. Make a list of equipment you will be using including model, make, specifications etc.
8. Create a Call Sheet this is the plan for the shoot, including contact numbers send to
everyone involved. [You will be given a template.] PUT EVIDENCE ON YOUR BLOG
9. FILM IT always take extra shots, and then some more you need as much stock footage as
will enable you to edit it and produce it as you envisaged it.
10. EDIT IT Final Cut Pro only (unless you happen to be highly skilled, and have access to Avid)
11. Get an early draft on your blog and ask for feedback from other year 13 students and the
teacher.
12. Make your final draft.
13. Create a DVD for the teacher, and one for yourself.
