Pattersons Class
Week of January 25-29
Students completed reading Path Driver assessments last week to determine
student progress. This week they will complete math Path Driver assessments
for the same purpose.
Have a great week!
Math: Math Club continues this week.
We will review a couple of concepts from the last unit about place value as we begin
our new unit, Addition and Subtraction within 200 and Word Problems within 100.
This week we will be focusing on sums and differences within 100. Well start by
relating 1 more, 1 less, 10 more, and 10 less to addition and subtraction of 1 and 10.
Well also add and subtract multiples of ten and then multiples of ten and some ones.
Spelling: This week were working on the double oo sounds. oo as in moon and oo
as in look.
Reading: The students completed the second Path Driver assessment last week.
Writing: Well be spending some time reviewing punctuation.

Science: Students will share their posters on women inventors. Then we will have a
chance to try out being inventors. Well learn the invention process, and students will
invent their own pasta cars. Students will make a breadboard (diagram) of their
creation before they actually build them.
Social Studies: None for now as we focus on Science.
Vocabulary: Dialogue- a conversation between two or more characters.

Math: Math fact practice - 2-sided worksheet (10+ within 20 and
doubles)
Reading: Read 20 minutes a night for homework.
Reading Log-Keep track of the books you read.
