RE: FIRST WARNING LETTER FOR LATENESS
Promptness is important in the day-to-day operation of our department. While we make allowances for
occasional lateness, consistent lateness cannot be tolerated. On various occasions it has been observed
that you are coming late to the office without prior permission of management, resulting in willful
insubordination and gross negligence of duties, in your capacity as ________________________.
We have further noted that despite the numerous verbal warnings, on this matter, you have refused to heed
the same. Note that reporting late to office without prior intimation is a misconduct for which you are
making yourself liable for necessary action.
You are hereby warned to refrain from such activities, and you must be at your place of work strictly in
accordance with your terms of employment and the hours set. Failure to do so shall invoke disciplinary
action.
You are further advised to;
1. Submit a written explanation on your coming late to office as soon as you receive this letter.
2. Please sign a copy of this letter in acknowledgement of receipt of this letter.
3. Be punctual to work.
Please note that coming late to work affects not only your work it affects the entire process you are
involved in, and should there be extenuating circumstances, please come and speak with me. If there is a
problem, perhaps we can work it out together.
Kindly treat this as very urgent.
