Multicore Armoured Control: Product Sheet No. Cables 060-01 B

This section discusses low voltage cables including multiconductor armored control cables with circular construction. It provides current ratings and voltage drops for different conductor sizes of these cables. It also notes that the current ratings are for single circuit operation and provides a table for reducing the ratings if multiple circuits are operated on the same cable.

Multi Circuit Operation

The current ratings given above are single circuit ratings, i.e they relate to a single set of 2 or 3 loaded conductors.
Whilst these cables are not intended for use as power cables, if they are to be operated with more than one set of
conductors loaded for significant periods, the ratings given above should be reduced by application of an appropriate
rating factor from the following table:

A cable consisting of n loaded conductors should be considered as n/2 circuits of two loaded conductors or n/3 circuits
of three loaded conductors as applicable.
