Geometry Course Expectations 2015-2016

EVALUATION/GRADING
The nine week grades will be computed as
follows:
- Tests/Projects = 45%
- Quizzes = 35%
- Classwork = 10%
- Homework = 10%
Students will be given the opportunity to
replace quiz grades in each unit. If a
students Unit Test grade is higher than any
of their quiz grades from that unit, their quiz
grades will be adjusted to reflect that
improvement.

HOMEWORK
- Homework is given daily and due the
next time the class meets. Questions or
concerns will be addressed daily. Work must
be
shown in order to receive credit.
- Homework will be collected and graded at the
teachers discretion.

Students will also take a final exam. This


exam grade will be averaged in with the
semester grade and count as 1/9 of the final
grade.

MAKE-UP WORK
- Students are responsible for all work
missed for all absences.
- Homework assigned on the day of an
absence must be made up within 2 class
periods following the absence.
- Students are expected to collect
assignments prior to leaving for a field trip,
and have work attempted upon return.
- Any graded assignment missed due to an
absence must be completed. An

for the classroom set: Destroying or tampering
(i.e. ripping, drawing, peeling off) of the

BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE

Students may use electronic devices in my


classroom at my discretion. I will alert students
using the red/green card system as to the
appropriate times. Devices are to be used to
strengthen the learning process and aid in class
activities.

Test Re-take Policy


Students have the opportunity to retake a test if they arent satisfied with their original score.
To re-take a test you must:

Pass a short mini-quiz containing basic concepts from the unit. These will usually be 23 questions. If you do not ass the mini-quiz, you will not be allowed to re-test that day.
You must attend after-school tutoring and try again the next day (unless its Thursday).
Come in on a specific day: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday after school from 2:153:30.
No retakes will be available during ASB.
