Ecological Restoration Technician:


Adaptive management of over 300 acres of Midewin Tallgrass Prairie, roughly 30 Cook County
Forest Preserve sites, ComEd Prarie Program and Vegetation Management sites, and Northwestern
Mutual campus restoration. Ecosystems include wetlands, river and riparian zones, prairies,
savannahs, and woodlands.
Relocated to repair the largest inland oil spill in US history along 35 miles of the Kalamazoo River
Spearheading research on the effects of fire on woody species abundance and growth habits,
changes in community makeup and soil chemistry across phytocoenoses, ex vivo volatilities of
individual plant species, and elucidating the best methods for extirpating Lotus cornicultus.
Currently pursuing a state-wide citizen science platform.
Eradication of invasive species. Dichotomous plant identification. Propagation, planting, and
seeding of native species. Prescribed burning. Chainsaw tree-clearing. 4wd backroad driving and
manual transmission. Fluent in usage of myriad power equipment.
Led safety teleconferences for all Midwestern environmental field crews
