come up with an adjective or describing word to

describe their classmates. This will be used in the
future as a present to each student from Miss
Sheets but this will not be told to the class during
the lesson. Students will be told to keep it
respectful as the teacher will use a system
(numbering the students) to see what everyone
wrote about each other. Questions will be clarified
before moving on and beginning the lesson.
Thumbs up/down will be used to ensure students
understand what they will be doing in this lesson.
As well, some students will be asked to repeat
back either steps of the assignment or a
description of the assignment to show they have
been listening.
In-class assignment
During this assignment, students will pass papers
around to each other with a classmates name on
the top of each of them. The students must write
down a word to (positively) describe their
classmates before passing the paper on to the
next classmate. Students will also check off words
they agree with that others have written down for
that classmate.
Students will be given an assigned number which
they have to write beside their describing word to
ensure accountability with the words they choose.
Only the teacher and each student will know their
individual assignment numbers to ensure
anonymity for those who want it.
Students that struggle with writing or spelling will
be given the opportunity to put a check mark
beside a word that they agree with about their
classmates. This way, they are still describing
their classmates but are not hung up on having to
come up with or spell the descriptions.
Closure
Students will hand in the sheets to the teacher
and get ready for the social studies lesson
happening right away.
