A root word is the

word. When you
read an unfamiliar
word, look for the
root word. Then use
the root word to
figure out what the

is consider. To consider
something means to
think about it. Being

be thoughtful of others

Dear Parents,

Monday

We are very excited about our field trip next


Tuesday. Lets all think Happy Thoughts for great
weather. Please help your child to dress
appropriately for the weather and walking. If your
child is a home lunch please pack everything in
disposable containers. (Ill send a reminder to my
students that are home lunches).
Read to a Kid Day is this Friday the 26th.
Students are asked to come to school dressed as
their favorite book character. Please help your
child select an appropriate costume. Third grade
parents are invited for, Blankets and Books! Bring
a blanket and a book to picnic with your third
grader. It will be a memorable day.

Math
Skill Focus: Fractions
Through illustrations, visuals, and handson activities, we will be building our
understanding of comparing fractions.
We will be able to compare fractions
with the same numerator, and with the
same denominator, and explain our
reasoning.
