Avid Strategies

AVID strategies are instructional methods that prepare students for college by promoting positive learning outcomes. These strategies include marking up texts by circling key terms, underlining unknown vocabulary, and highlighting important points. Another strategy is carousel brainstorming where students in groups quickly brainstorm ideas on different topics written on chart paper by rotating to each topic with different colored markers. The interactive notebook and Cornell notes are also AVID strategies that are discussed.
