Connection To The Radio

This document provides instructions for connecting a Yaesu VX-8G radio to a computer. It discusses using a CT-143 cable with a 2.5mm stereo plug to connect to the radio and a 9-pin DB9 connector for the computer. An RT Systems USB-82 cable can also be used if the proper drivers are installed. The radio uses standard RS232 serial communications, not TTL. Instructions are provided for selecting the correct COM port in the software and detecting FTDI devices if using that type of cable.
