Laboratory Sample Report

This laboratory report describes an experiment on clipper circuits performed by students Affan Bhoira, Abdullah Raid Yaseen, and Firas Nedal Hammad. The report provides background information on clipping circuits and half-wave rectifiers. It documents the students building three clipper circuits on breadboards with a 4 Vp-p sinusoidal wave signal at 2 kHz as input. Simulation results of the clipper circuit in MultiSim are also included with a diagram of the circuit.

Description
1. The circuit with which wave form is shaped by removing a
portion of the applied wave is known as clipping circuit.
Clipping circuits (also known as limiters, amplitude selectors,
or slicers), are used to remove the part of a signal that is
above or below some defined reference level.
2. An example of a clipper circuit is the half-wave rectifier. The
half-wave rectifier is a circuit that allows only part of an input
signal to pass. The circuit is simply the combination of a
single diode in series with a resistor, where the resistor is
acting as a load.
