Construction of the New Fire Station No. 2 (Bayside)
Pacific Highway and Cedar Street Successor Agency of City of San Diego c/o Civic San Diego Fire Station No.2 (Bayside), located in San Diegos Little Italy, is situated to provide the local Fire Department faster response times for your communitys commercial, civic, and residential areas west of the active railroad tracks. The new Fire Station will be situated on a 10,000 square foot corner site at the intersection of Pacific Highway and West Cedar Street, across from the San Diego County Administration Building. In addition to the building construction, this work will include improvements in the public sidewalk areas as well as roadwork along Pacific Highway and Cedar Street, including pavement replacement and traffic signal modifications.
CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULED TO BEGIN MARCH 2016
WHAT TO EXPECT During construction, anticipate temporary inconveniences. Please exercise caution in the work zone and note that: -- Road closures, detours and restricted access will occur periodically.; -- There may be temporary traffic rerouting and limited access within the immediate work zone; -- Staged construction materials, equipment and storage containers will be located along the work zone; -- When required, temporary "No Parking" signs will be posted 48 hours before construction activities start; and -- Vehicles parked in violation of signs will be towed. HOURS AND DAYS OF OPERATION -- During the majority of the construction duration, hours of activity will be Monday through Friday, 7am to 3:30pm. -- When required, there may be night and weekend work. If you must travel through the area, please use caution in the construction work zone and allow extra time to arrive at your destination. Follow temporary detours and no parking signs, which will be enforced. Updates for any additional anticipated impacts will be provided as work progresses.
