OBJECTIVE: To obtain an elementary teaching assignment where through my knowledge, experience and
creativity I am able to guide, engage, and motivate students in their learning experience.

Response to Intervention
Worked with diverse population, with a majority of English Language Learners and at-risk students.
Incorporated GLAD teaching strategies into lessons, such as, visual aids, manipulative, front-loading vocabulary,
graphic organizers and additional scaffolding.
Created and implemented a variety of positive reinforcement techniques and behavior plans. Fostered a
collaborative learning environment that welcomed all students to grow as learners.
Instructor for after-school intervention program with at-risk students. Participated in community events outside
of school to help promote the importance of parent involvement in the classroom.

Designed and implemented differentiated lessons using 21st Century Teaching and Learning strategies. Daily
integration of Interactive Whiteboard to introduce, reteach and extend lessons. Utilization of one-to-one ratio
student laptops. Programs engaged by students include; iMovie, Google docs and other online sources.
Clear, consistent communication with parents and students. On-going dialogue regarding student progress.
Managed established group of parent volunteers to support in-class academic and enrichment programs.
Successfully developed and implemented San Ramon Readers and Writers Workshop units; using the model of
gradual release, modeling, and active student involvement in every lesson. Use of on-going informal evaluations
through one to one conferring, as well as formative and summative assessments, which guide whole class and
small group strategy lessons. Expanded units of study to include Common Core State Standards with a lens of
Informational Text.
