isometric drawing of
geometrical solid flat
surface by Box
Method

Given top view and front view of an object.


Draw isometric drawing based on the viewing
direction given.

Step 1
Based on viewing direction given at orthographic drawing,
Identify Isometric axis .(normal axis, reverse axis or
horizontal axis) by looking at arrow shown at front view.
Notes
Normal Axis (arrow shown from the top)
Reverse Axis ( arrow shown from the bottom)
Draw Isometric Axis

LEFT
SIDE

SIDE

Step 2
Based on the arrow at the top view, identify viewing
direction.
Notes
The arrow at position A from top view shows the position
of right and left sides of viewer.
Draw an Isometric box with the dimension W, H and D
