Ruth

Faith + Favor, Fields of Provision (Ruth)

Series Overview: After the passing of her husband, Ruth decides to give up her life and home
to embark on a journey and take care of her mother in law. In this Ruth continues to practice
small steps of faith that have written out the Lord's plan for her in flesh. Ruths story is proof of
small leaps of faith adding up to create a beautiful story.

Week 1:
Bottom Line: To give up your life is to gain life
Scripture: Ruth 1.14-16, Assist: Matthew 16.24-26, Philippians 1.21
Summary: After the death of her husband Ruth decides to give up her life to unite with her
stepmother, Naomi. In the process she surrenders her life to Naomis God and starts living out
faith. Ruth chapter one is the rising action to the climax of the Lords favor for Ruth.

Week 2:
Bottom Line: Simple, consistent acts of faith are favored
Scripture: Ruth 2. 11-12, Assist: Matthew 17. 14-20
Summary: After Ruth and Naomi arrive in Bethlehem; Ruth lives out her life with small acts of
faith as a new believer. Her faithfulness is not filled with giant proposals or award winning; shes
simply following Gods lead and taking a step in the right direction. In the process, she comes
across Boaz, a believer, who allows her to work in his field and offers to take care of her and
Naomi. Ruths small steps of faith were favored.

Week 3:
Bottom Line: God has never left our story unfinished
Scripture: Ruth 3. 8-13, and 18, Assist: Romans 8. 24-30
Summary: Ruth was given direction, received it, and applied it boldly. She trusted Naomi and
was obedient to her. Post action, she had to do something we all struggle with: the wait. Ruth
did not get frustrated when she wasnt given immediate response to her request, but she
practiced her faith by trusting God and being patient to his request.

Week 4:
Bottom Line: One small step is a tiny piece of Gods ultimate plan
Scripture: Ruth 4.13-15 Assist: Jeremiah 29.19,
Summary: Ruths small step to follow Naomi and take care of her. In the process of small faith,
patience, and boldness the Lord rewarded her with a man to spend the rest of her life with (and
grand children for Naomi). Her small steps of faith put her in the direction of Gods ultimate plan
for her.
