-Focuses on the African American
community specifically
-The only culturally specific sexual assault
agency that exist in Michigan
-Integrate different pieces to heal
-Engage experienced people
-Member of the MCEDSV and NASW
-SRERE Grant
-Room dcor shows we are supported by
local artist who have donated much art
work to our office
-Open to hearing how survivors heal
individually
-After completion of support group survivors
can facilitate a group
-Reaching out to the youth in the
community both male and female.

-The agency should change everything. We
will restructure the organization completely.
-Interested in being a volunteer based
organization and operating without funding.
-We have to understand that we can not do it
all. We can find an area we are strong in and
go from there.
-Self-funding after grants run out.
-The agency is not doing well with reaching
out to the community. More effort can be put
into outreach.
-The agency should improve

-Some new opportunities facing the
organization can be our collaboration with
WC SAFE to form a group for sexual assault
survivors whose rape kit has been tested.
-Some external trends that have a positive
influence on the organization is the recent
Black Lives Matter movement and the Bill
Cosby case with the women who have come
forward and said that they were allegedly
sexually assaulted by him. This had inspired
many women to tell their story and seek the
help and healing that they have been
holding back from

Threats

What obstacles exist that will make it

difficult to reach goals (ex: changing
regulations or policies, cash flow
problems, new technology, etc.)

What is competition doing

-Some obstacles that exist that will make it
difficult to reach the goal is societys views on
rape and sexual assault, racism, wrong
messages in the media, and silence.
-The competition is other sexual assault
agencies in Michigan. They offer individual
counseling, 24 hour crisis call center, and 24
hour on-call onsite services.
