Entering The Classroom
Entering The Classroom
Explain:
State the procedure:
Today we are going to learn how to properly enter the
classroom at the beginning of the day.
Generate rationale:
This is important because it helps us to be prepared to learn
when the bell rings.
Explain and model the procedure:
1 Greet students as they enter the classroom.
2 Explain to students that they need to put their backpacks in their
cubbies and unpack their belongings.
3 Tell students they need to turn in their homework to the teachers
desk and get out their materials at their assigned desk.
4 Review morning work that is on the board and have students start on
it independently until the bell rings.
Check for understanding:
1. What do we do first when we enter the classroom in the
morning?
2. Where does your backpack go?
3. Where do you put your homework folder?
4. What do you check for on the board to start working on?
Rehearse:
-Practice the procedure
-Each student will practice by pretending to come into the class.
They will need to perform each step including putting their backpack
away and starting morning work.
Reinforce:
Reteach and rehearse the procedure daily.
