Matrix

The document outlines various ways that technology can be integrated into different subject areas using tools like Pinterest, Storybird, learning management systems, mobile learning, and gamification. For mathematics, suggestions include having students find lessons on Pinterest and creating jeopardy games. For reading/writing, ideas involve using Pinterest for presentations, creating stories from art, and research projects. Social studies examples consist of using Storybird for history lessons and virtual state tours. Science incorporates research projects and using artwork to depict earth's evolution. Differentiation strategies are also discussed.

Mathematics
I would have my
students create a
Pinterest account and
find a fun lesson that
they would like to do in
class with numbers,
properties and
operations.

1. Number Sense,
Properties, and
Operations

I could have my
students go on a
quest around the
playground, to scan all
of the clues, but in
order to find get the
clue they have to
solve the equation
correctly.

2. Patterns, Functions,
and Algebraic
Structures

3. Analysis, Statistics,
and Probability

4. Shape, Dimension,
and Geometric

I would have my
students create a
game (jeopardy) on
their portfolio, and
then have them in
groups in class and
have them play it
with their
classmates. I would
need to include all
of the terms from
our current chapter
of focus, and have
scenarios that they
make up or use
from the book so
that they can recap
what they know
before a test.
#1,2,3,4
I would have my
students create a
story using shapes. I

I would use my LMS

to post lessons and
videos that they
would need to
watch before class,
then we would do
the Homework in
class and the
quizzes would need
to be completed on
their own time as
well.

Relationships

would have them

incorporate all of the
shapes that we
covered in this unit. I
would also have them
present their story
about their shape to
the class.

Reading, Writing, and Communicating

I would have my
students go to Pinterest
create a board on
different ways to give a
presentation, and then
have them use what
they learned to give a
presentation about what
they learned and to use
one of the methods they
pinned.

1. Oral Expression and

Listening

2. Reading for All

Purposes

3. Writing and
Composition

This code hunt will

be a review for a
test. It will be
have questions all
over the
classroom.
I would have the
students pick a
collection of art work
to work with and have
them come up with
their own story to go
with the pictures. I
would then have them
share in small groups
and do revisions. For
their final I would

I would use my LMS

to upload each
group and there
project then they
will have to come up
with a lesson plan,
but I will help them
by utilizing the LMS
discussion board
feature. I will have
my students in
groups, then have
them teach a lesson
In what were doing
class, for example,
creative writing,
have another group
teach a lesson on a
book were reading
stuff like that and
then give quizzes
over the stuff the
kids taught that way
they are
accountable for
listening to every
group.

create a poetry
convention. So I would
have the class room
set up as a caf, and
have them share in
class and have a tea
and snacks.

4. Research and
Reasoning

I would have the

students pick an
animal to do
research on. Have
them write a short
paper on their
animal, have them
find two videos, and
upload pictures onto
their portfolio page
for English. I Then I
would let the
students give there
report to the class
using the page they
created.
#1,2,3,4

Social Studies
I would have my
students pick a
certain time period of
history that they are
interested in. Have
them do a little
research on the time
period, then tell the
story of that time
period through
storybird.

1. History

2. Geography

I would have each

student have a
different state and
have them upload a
map of the state
and take us on a
virtual tour using
Prezi or any other
internet resource I
give them, on
import places and
why they are
important and to
give us a little
background on their

state. And have it

on their portfolio
page.
#1,2,3,4

3. Economics

4. Civics

I will have my students

create a board for
Economics and I will
have them pin things
that contribute to our
economy and have them
write a description as to
why they think it applies
to economies. It will be
used as a pretest.

I will utilize my LMS

by having them go
in and look at all of
the charts I have
posted and have
them do a pre-quiz
to gauge what they
know, and also take
a class poll on a fun
fact about
economics.

I will have my students

research there birthday
signs for example mine
would be an Aquarius,
then I would have them
pin there birthday sign,
and write a short
paragraph about their
sign, then I would also
have them find three
consultations and write
a paragraph about them
as well.

I will use my LMS to

post videos that
they need to watch
before class that
way we can apply
what they learned
and do fun
experiments in
class.

This code hunt will

be scattered
throughout the
school if possible,
but each one will
have a different
Right and they
will have to name
where it came
from and the date
it was formed.

Science
1. Physical Science

2. Life Science

Each student can

use there animal
that have already
done research on
about their living
habits and fun facts
about them, and
turn it into a science
lesson, and give us
the information
about its anatomy,
and origin of the
animal.

#1,2,3,4
I can have the kids
find artwork to make
the stories about
earth science and our
word has evolved into
today, and have them
post it onto their
wall

3. Earth Systems
Science

Differentiation
Learning Disabilities EEOs
Physical Disabilities

I will work the

student/students on
a more personal
level and give them
any extra assistance
they need.

Gifted/ Talented

Other

I will have them doing

the Pinterest but adding
a little bit more of a
difficulty to it, that way
they dont get bored.

I Will have all of my

lessons for the unit
uploaded, and I will
create a separate
group within the
LMS so that they
can work ahead as
well as make harder
different quizzes for
them to take.

I think code hunts

would be good for
the kids because
they will be able
to manipulate the
technology in
there hand.

Reflections:
E-portfolio: I chose to do the ISET standards for my e-portfolio, because they standards are all technology standards. The e-portfolio meets all
of the technology standards and I think it is a funny and interactive way to get kids more involved and learning more about the things that are being
taught. I love the idea of having a working portfolio throughout the year. I think it will be a great tool for teachers to learn and see how there students
are learning from year to year. I think there are a lot of really cool things that we can do with the portfolio and it will help the students keep their
creativity.

For my Storybird matrix I came up with a mini lesson plan and activities for each subject. Storybird can be used in every
subject and would be a great way to keep the kids involved, and stay focused on what is being taught. It is also a fun way for me
to assess the students instead of having a test. Storybird is so versatile and is a fun way to see what classmates are doing too. I
also think it would be fun for the kids to get into groups and make up a story and draw the images onto a piece of paper and
share their original book. I think this will be a great tool to be using as a teacher.

The past two weeks I have learned a lot! I love that I as a teacher can utilize Pinterest for lesson ideas, as well as fun craft
ideas. I learned a lot about how to integrate technology into my everyday classroom. I also loved looking at other peoples boards
to see what they came up, and if I could use it in my class room. I also really loved that I got to research and pick and create my
own LMS. It was great to see how each one worked, and how I could utilize one in my classroom, I love that you can put
everything up on the LMS and then kids and parents can go see lessons, due dates, polls and quizzes. It makes life a lot easier on
teachers because its all in one place and you dont have to go to a million different places for worksheets, the grade book, and a
lesson plans. I cant wait to utilize my LMS in a real classroom, as well as Pinterest!

For my mobile learning I learned a lot and think it could be used for a fun new way to learn and keep the kids engaged. But I also just dont
know how feasible it would be. I think having code hunts for test reviews would be a great way for them to be accountable for their own learning and
better than worksheets. I do think code hunts could be used for all subjects but I also think it could become overkill just like worksheets.
