Practicum Week

Title of Journal

: My passion.

Since I was a child, my dream has been to be a teacher. My motivations for


seeking to enter the profession of teaching are my love of learning and the hope that I
could impart some of that love to my pupils. Possessing the treasure of having good
experience with my English language teacher in school and considering the fact that
teaching is my life's dream; my professional desire is to be an English teacher. Overall,
my experiences and skills merge to advance my professional path to becoming a
teacher and this "in school experience" will be an opportunity to further my field-based
experience and teaching education.
As teacher, we will create a nurturing structure in which I have witnessed and
guided the growth of pupils has been a challenge in which I have learned and practiced
patience, communication with children, problem solving, and leadership. As a trainee
teacher I can observe the classroom instruction, noting procedures, teaching styles,
learning styles of students, curriculum materials and classroom management
techniques. I worked independently with pupils who needed help and corrected tests
and quizzes. It definitely was a valuable opportunity to learn and work with pupils. I have
gained more knowledge and better understanding about components and dynamics of a
classroom and gained confidence to step into a classroom.

I am eager to return to a classroom setting and have the opportunity of taking on


some real teaching responsibility in order to learn more from the teaching experience
and classroom methods, as well as gain the ability to create and maintain a classroom
atmosphere that nurtures and promotes learning. Other skills and experience I possess
will contribute to the classroom.
All in all, my developed skills and my personal interest combine to make me
ready to take the next step in becoming a teacher. I will do my best to help my students
not only to be academically successful, but also to support them in their personal
growth. My expectations are that this hands-on experience will help me to step
confidently into my own classroom.
