Singleton Wump World LP 9 18

This lesson plan outlines a 6th grade English class focused on writing with purpose and detail. The 56-minute class will begin with warm-up activities to build community and descriptive thinking. Students will then workshop their introduction paragraphs from a previous lesson. The main activity involves using descriptive writing to give blindfolded peers detailed instructions to eat a Starburst candy. If time allows, students will outline the main points for their body paragraphs on the story "Wump World". The class will conclude with an exit ticket assessing challenges and areas for more practice. Homework involves drafting one body paragraph.
