Cell Phone Policy
Please remember our school cell phone use policy is that cell phones are to remain off and put away during the school
day. Any student caught using a cell phone on multiple occasions through-out the school year may be subject to
school consequences that may impact end of year activities as well as a parent call to retrieve the phone from school.
The Productions SHOWCASE is coming!
Curious what the Adams Video Productions class has been up to this year? Come watch the commercials, mini's, and
movies they have filmed this year at their Showcase. Friday, April 29th at 7:00 in the Theatre. Tickets go on sale next
week in room 26.
Graduation Leis!
8th graders: dont miss out on having a lei for graduation! There are many styles for both boys and girls and 25% of all
proceeds come back to our school! Go to Kahunaflowers.com to order by May 27th! (5/27)
Wizards are Coming to Town!
Attention All Students! Come enjoy this family event on April 23, 2016 doors open at 6:00PM. Watch the Harlem
Wizards vs The Brentwood All-Stars. A flier is available on the AMS website and in the AMS Student Office.
Lost and Found
If you think you may have any items in the lost and found, please check ASAP! The 8th Grade Home Ec students will be
taking unclaimed items to use for a project (4/18)
Earth Day Recycling Drive
Hey Yellow Jackets! Were going green for Earth Day on April 22! All next week, April 18-22, you will see blue recycling
bins around campus and at lunch. Please throw your plastic or glass bottles and cans into the blue bins instead of
throwing them in the trash! All items will be collected and turned in to raise money for student activities! And, on Earth
Day, Friday, April 22, make sure to wear GREEN! (4/22)
8th Graders
Drum roll please. The theme for your upcoming promotion dance is.Party Under the Big City Lights.
Please remember that the promotion dance is a NON-formal event and fancy clothes, dates, and other prom-like
traditions are discouraged.
D.C. & NYC TRIP 2017 UPDATE
Welcome aboard to all those who registered over the weekend! Just one week after the meeting and we are already
beyond 1/2 full, that's a record! If you want to join the trip, don't delay! Visit WorldStrides.org and use group ID#133381
to register.
7th Grade Water Park Trip
AMS is sponsoring an End of Year for all eligible 7th graders at Brentwood Water Park on May 31.
More information will follow in Advisory the week of May 2. Tickets will go on sale before and after school at the
student office window starting the week of May 9 May 20.
Remember all 7th graders must meet the following criteria in order to be eligible:
* No more than 10 tardies during 4th quarter.
* No suspensions between March 29 and the activity.
* No more than 2 F's on the 3rd quarter report card
and/or 4th quarter progress report.
* The administration reserves the right to withhold
student participation in promotion activities based on overall behavior.
*Ineligible students may participate in a planning conference to develop a contract for success.
