Charlottes Web Diorama Project

Students will construct a diorama of their favorite scene from Charlotte's Web and present it to the class. The diorama should use creative materials like cotton balls, paper, and toy figures to recreate the scene in a shoebox. When presenting, students must explain the scene in detail, with reference to events in the novel to help classmates understand. The project is due on April 30th and will be graded based on a rubric assessing creativity, inclusion of characters, and clarity of presentation.

Charlottes Web Favorite Scene

Diorama Project

At the completion of reading Charlottes Web, each student will construct their
favorite scene as a diorama.

Students should use a small shoebox and other creative materials to recreate their
favorite scene from the book. The materials can include, but are not limited to:
cotton balls for webs, construction paper for background, straw, sticks for fences
or crate, printed character images, toy characters and animals, drawn pictures of a
barn, string, etc.

Students should be able to present their diorama explaining the scene in detail
with reference to the novel, discussing the events leading up to their scene to give
classmates a better understanding of the identification of the scene.

Students will be graded using the rubric on the back side of this explanation.

The diorama project is due Tuesday, April 30th.
