Technology Integration Matrix Et 347

This document summarizes how different technologies can be integrated to support various academic standards. It provides examples of how eportfolios, StoryBirds, mobile learning, and soundscapes can be used for different subject areas. For example, in math an eportfolio is used to demonstrate addition skills and in science students create a soundscape about physical science topics. The technologies are mapped to standards, frameworks, learning theories and instructional approaches to provide comprehensive lessons that develop students' skills.

Reflection:
Through this matrix I realized that e-portfolios have a wide variety of uses. Other peoples e-portfolios can be used to gain
information and show format and citations. Teachers e-portfolios can be used at a teaching tool and children/the class can create
an e-portfolio to record knowledge gained and review. As a teacher it is important to use e-portfolios so that you can evaluate and
assess what children have learned and what they still need to know. E-portfolios are a great technological tool to use with
children of all ages; e-portfolios can be simplified for younger children and made more complex for older children.
Storybirds are such a fun and creative way to get information across. By having children look at and read different storybirds they
can see facts and information presented to them in a way that is entertaining and feeds into their interests. Storybirds are a good
way to organize information and create a fun representation of information and content areas to children. Also when children use
storybird they get to relay the knowledge that they have gained in a way that allows then to be creative and use pictures and
themes that interest them.
Through this matrix I found that there are so many different apps, cites, tools, and materials that are available for teachers who
want to incorporate Mobil Learning in their classroom. When I was completing this matrix I had the opportunity to do some
research on different Mobil learning ideas and materials. I was pleased to find that there is a wide variety for all different age
groups. However, one reservation that I have about using Mobil learning is the lack of funding for the school to provide children
with Mobil learning materials. Also if the school did not pay for the materials for the children some childrens families might not

be able to afford to provide their children with the materials. This in return could be embarrassing to children and families. But
this aside, I love the idea of children being able to take their learning materials with them everywhere.
This matrix has shown me the versatility of the soundscape. Through researching and finding ideas for activities in each content
area I found myself reaching to create a soundscape activity for everything. The soundscape not only allows children to be
creative and have fun but aids in the learning of content areas. It does this through involving another sense, hearing, and
capturing the children that learn best through audio. I know that I had a lot of fun creating a soundscape and think that children
of all ages would really enjoy this activity as well.
