Narrative Report
Cauayan District Hospital
The character of a nurse is as important as the knowledge she possesses.
The Level IV Nursing had their duty at the Cauayan District Hospital for a couple of months and according to them, this occupied the most of their memories during their senior year. Thursdays and Fridays are the days spent at CDH wherein we are assigned on a patient or if youre lucky, patients. So heres the daily scenario during our duty. Upon arriving at the area, we would sign on the attendance sheet, put on our caps and pins, and bring out our paraphernalia that we will be using throughout the day. After which, our Clinical Instructor will assign a Head Nurse from our group who will be the overall in-charge. And then, the Chief Nurse will check the number of patients and their charts and due medications throughout the shift and will assign a nurse on every patient. Then, the struggle or should I say, the work of the Nurse starts with that. Nurses lead very demanding lives. Working with doctors, healing patients and educating them are just a few of the responsibilities nurses perform on a daily basis. In fact you could say that nurses are the backbone of our healthcare care system, providing us with the attention and medical care that we need to live a healthy long-lasting lives. Sometimes, being a nurse can be exhausting, but the knowledge and power to help heal others is what keeps them going.
