Renaissance has been recognized as one of the highest achieving top 5% of schools statewide and recently received a
Silver Medal Rating by U.S. News and World Report's annual list of America's Best High Schools. Your acceptance
indicates that you are one of Detroit's best and brightest, and we are pleased that you will be one of the Mighty Phoenix!
Renaissance is a college-preparatory high school for gifted and academically talented students. Students are required to
take four years of English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and Global Language. It is also anticipated that you will
take one or more Advanced Placement courses before graduation.
Registration and scheduling of classes will be based upon information you provide on the DPS Enrollment Form and Course
Selection Sheet. You MUST confirm your acceptance of admission to Renaissance High School by submitting the following
documents in person Monday - Friday between 9 AM - 2 PM no later than Wednesday, June 3, 2 0 1 5 :
Proof of Residency (Utility Bill, Lease Agreement, etc.) or parent/guardian State ID or driver's license
Please be advised, if ail items needed for registration are not submitted by June 3'", your child's admission status for the
2015 - 1 6 school year will be impacted, and he/she may be wait-iisted for the coming school year, incomplete enrollment
packets WILL NOT be accepted for registration.
The New Student Orientation is scheduled for Wednesday. June 3"* 4 PM. All newly admitted students are strongly
encouraged to participate in our Phoenix Bridge Program in order to assist with the transition to high school for a cost of
$50 certified check or money order made payable to Renaissance Hs Bridge Program (see additional attachment). Please
