The Mariners minor league affiliates had mixed results on May 13, 2016. The AAA Tacoma Rainiers lost to the Fresno Grizzlies 4-3 in 10 innings. The AA Jackson Generals defeated the Birmingham Barons 2-0 behind a combined shutout by four pitchers. The A+ Modesto Nuts game was postponed due to rain. Several players were highlighted for their performances including Mike Zunino of Tacoma, Tyler O'Neill of Jackson, and Dylan Unsworth of Jackson who was named Southern League Pitcher of the Week.

on 14 hits over 19.2 innings while walking 3. His 0.92 ERA ranks 2nd in the Southern League to Tennessees Paul Blackburn. This is
Unsworths 2nd Pitcher of the Week Award in his career. He earned one previously in 2014 with the High Desert Mavericks of the California
