Egg Drop Final Reflection Keana

1. The student's hypothesis that wings would prevent the egg from breaking was incorrect, as their egg container was unsuccessful and the egg broke. 2. Their egg container failed because it lacked any mechanism to reduce the force of gravitational pull, such as a parachute. 3. The best design was a box surrounded by a sphere, which cushioned the egg on impact and prevented breakage.

Reflection Questions
1. Was your hypothesis right? In other words, did you correctly state a
hypothesis that was true after you dropped your egg?
My Hypothesis was incorrect I stated that if the egg container had wings
then the egg wouldnt break and that was incorrect.

2. Was your egg contraption sucessful? If so why? If not, why?

My egg drop wasnt sucessful. It wasnt sucessful because there was no
opposing force to deduce its (the egg container) gravitational pull.
3. What could you have done to make your container more successful?
I couldve added a parachute or have a thicker cotainer in order to stop the
egg from cracking.
4. After watching the egg drops, who had the best design? What made their
design different from yours?
Leset had the best design. The reason why she had the best egg drop is
because it was a box with a sphere around it so when the egg did drop the outer
sphere saved it.

5. What do you think the overall purpose of this project was?

I think that the overall purpose of the egg drop was to test our ability to think
outside of the box and it was overall o test of what we learned this marking
period.

6. How could you relate these egg contraptions to real life situations?
An airplen could be considered the egg drop container and we are the eggs.
You have to use the same type of physics in order to create the perfect
container except the risk are lives and not an egg.
7. State one new thing you learned from this project.
I have learned that there is so much thought and planning that goes into creating a
sucessful project. Tou have to us aero dynamics and physics just to successfully
drop an egg without it breaking

8. Did you enjoy this project, if so why? And if not, why?

I did enjoy this project. It was very hands on which I enjoyed and it tested my
creativity which I loved
