Diesel Power Plant (Ice)

This document is a presentation by Ankit Jasoliya for Prof. Manish K. Mistry on diesel engine power plants. It discusses the advantages of diesel engine power plants such as quick installation and starting, no warmup period, ability to meet immediate demand loads, efficiency, and lower costs. It also outlines disadvantages like limited capacity, high maintenance costs, and noise. The presentation describes applications for diesel engine power plants and includes a schematic diagram of essential components and systems. It concludes by discussing types of diesel engines suitable for different plant capacities and load factors.

Presentation on : Internal Combustion Engine (2161902)
(Diesel Engine Power Plant)
Prepared by : Ankit Jasoliya (130760119019)
Submitted to : Prof. Manish K. Mistry

Advantages :

Can be installed quickly

Can be started and stopped quickly

Dose not need any warming up period

Can meet demand load immediately

More efficient than other plants

Overall capital cost less

Cooling water requirement is less

Less man power requirement for supervision

System is clean

Disadvantages:

Capacity of plant is limited

Power generation cost is high

Not suitable for continues over loads

High maintenance cost

High noisy

Life of plant is limited to 5 years

Application:

Central power station

Peak load plants

Stand by units

Emergency plant

Mobile plant

Plant for small industries

Nursery stations
