Linda West Primary School was opened in 1957 and has had nine head teachers. It currently has a student population of 1,025 from grades 1 to 9 across 34 primary and 7 junior secondary classes. The staff includes 51 teachers, of which 11 are male and 40 are female. Over the years the school has achieved academic excellence and high progression rates. It also actively participates in co-curricular activities like sports. The Parent Teacher Association has helped build a school wall fence and teachers' flats to address issues like vandalism and accommodation. The school motto is "Hard Work and Prosperity" and it aims to produce students who can face life positively and serve as role models.

LINDA WEST PRIMARY SCHOOL

SCHOOL PROFILE
Linda west primary school was opened in 1957 by the Roman Catholic Church. The first
Head teacher was father Albus. So far, Nine head teachers have since been in charge of the
school. The current head teacher is Mrs. Chimoka.
The school has a population of 1,O25 pupils from grade to (1) to (9). It has 34 primary
school classes and 7 junior secondary classes , with a class room capacity of 16 rooms

ACADEMICS
Over the years, the school has attained education excellence in many areas. This is seen in
the progression rate that has been going on at grade 8 and 10. This is due to the hard work
that members of staff and the pupils have been putting in.
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Linda west primary school is very much alive in the area of co-curricular activities as pupils
are very much involved in co-curricular activities, such as netball, volleyball, and also athletic
and production unit. Our pupils are usually selected in various district teams, a sign of our
involvement in co-curricular activities. Our childrens council is one of the most active in the
country.
PTA
The partnership between parents and teachers has been a long standing one. The parents
teachers association has been very much instrumental in the running of the school. The PTA
has helped in the building of the school wall fence. This has helped to curb vandalism which
was very rampant as the school in located closer to the compound.
Currently the PTA is helping in the building of 1x3 teachers flats which has reached an
advanced level. The school flats are helping to alleviate accommodation problems for the
teachers.
In conclusion, Linda west is basic is a very vibrant school which believes in cooperation, hard
work and excellence. Its a school that is alive to all cross-cutting issues like HIV/AIDS and
sustainable development. We believe in producing a student who will be able to face life with
a positive attitude and one who will be a role model in society. Our School Motto is Hard Work
and Prosperity.
